Alice.uk.com (Alice) is a project that seeks to
provide world-wide help to those in a crisis
pregnancy situation or who have experienced abortion. The objectives are to develop a web portal
using well proven technology, to link organizations, across the globe, who can offer vital support
in this area.
Based on the pioneering model developed with CareConfidential, the Alice portal, enables people to
access comparable services in their own country. It will also benefit those who have no local support
but would still able to get help in their own language. This would include telephone support and online
counselling in a secure, safe environment.
Support from Alice will enable local organizations to attract an increased volume of clients that would
not be possible through their own single websites. Statistical data will be gathered to measure the on-going
effectiveness of the project.
The Alice portal technology links people directly with indigenous centres who provide effective online
counselling and other web-based support. Alice uses our proven Online Community™ technology, giving
outstanding performance in the search engines. Visitors can navigate through ALICE if required to enable
them to locate geographically any centre in the world and then click through to its site.
Search engine traffic has been a vital contribution to the success of the work already undertaken by
CareConfidential who have already been able to help over 5000 clients through its online counselling
service alone since 2006.
ALICE will also support statistical research including 'AbortionSurvey - Tell Your Story' which is an
innovative project that aims to make a practical difference to women at the decision making stage and
to provide feedback that informs long-term practical and therapeutic outcomes.
The Alice portal technology is already helping organizations in the UK, Canada and France. There has
been a great deal of interest from across the world including many European countries, USA, Africa, Japan,
South America and in the developing world.
